In August 2023 we are leaving to Antananarivo, Madagascar in order to not only support, but. be encouraged by a missions couple named N’Jaka and Damoina along with their 3 kids Anaiah, Benaia and Seraiah. N’Jaka and Damoina both work for CSRM (Church Sports Recreation Ministries), and devote their life to serving the Lord and the Church with their God-given abilities. Right now they help to develop church sports and recreation trainings for the people, build relationships with the church, train leaders, and make disciples- all through the means of sports outreach.

N’Jaka is a former basketball player, and is also the sports chaplain for the military pro basketball team. Basketball is emerging in the country, and just this year the Madagascar Men’s 3×3 Basketball Team won FIBA’s African Cup Title. This is a platform where we can come and help provide much needed assistance to N’Jaka and Damoina’s ministry, provide them with goods that they can not easily access in their country, train the people and churches in how to connect to their communities through basketball, share the gospel on the court with other players through games and tournaments, etc.

Though we are still in the planning phase of what this trip is going to look like, we hope that this letter from N’Jaka and Damoina will provide you with a sense of excitement and enthusiasm to come alongside us and witness this story unfold.

Dear Next Move,

We praise and Thank God for making us meet like this. God knows how to connect His children. And we thank Jonathan for being His tool for this opportunity to make us connected for one purpose to use sports to change the world, to share the Faith, and to make disciples. Thank you so much for thinking about serving the Lord with us, mainly with our favorite sport, Basketball! Wow, how would we say no to this? If Christ is preached, we will rejoice in this.

I was a Military Pro Basketball player; when I met Christ in 1996 I wanted to use my God-given athletic abilities to serve Him. I love the Lord and Sports. I am married to Domoina in 2002, we have three children, Anaiah, 19 girls, Benaia 16, girl, and Seraiah 13 boy. We currently live in Ambohimangakely, Antananarivo. Domoina and I have been working at CSRM since 2018. We have been blessed serving with the wonderful staff and GNPs there. And from 2016 I have been serving the Lord as a chaplain at the Military Pro Athletes where I was a Basketball player to share the Faith and make disciples.

We are so thankful for your willingness to come here to serve us. If you will bring your basketball team, we will have many opportunities to reach out to coaches and players for Christ.

Would you give basketball coaching to coaches? If yes, we will contact the Malagasy Basketball Federation president to allow us to share the Faith through the training sessions. Maybe, we would be able to run a big tournament in which we would invite the President of the Republic. The Basketball team could also have a friendly match with the Military Pro Basketball Team, with which we would be able to reach the high-ranked officers at the Army for Christ. This would be a great open door to reach even the Youth and Sports Minister, and Government members.

We have some Christian Basketball Teams that are working with us here to receive some trainings, and to work with us to reach the Goal.

Let’s pray to ask for God’s guidance, and wisdom so that we may know where to start, and know what and which of these would be the POP (People Of Peace) Luke 10.1-10. Key people and key activities to make the event successful.

If you have any ideas or questions, please, just let us know.

Blessings,

Njaka and Domoina

LET’S SUPPORT MADAGASCAR TOGETHER!

Not only are we sending a team of basketball players to help serve the people within N’Jaka and Damoina’s community, but we are also trying to bless them with new equipment that they don’t have easy access to in Madagascar. Check out the different ways that you could help!
